More Than Just A Piece Of Land
In 2025, when natural disasters and rising costs threatened to turn a beloved local caravan park into another concrete development, we chose a different path. Instead of selling out, we stood up.
Kays Community NPO was born from a daughter’s vision to keep a community intact and a heart that refused to see families displaced. We didn’t just save the park; we transformed it into a mission for sustainable upliftment.

Established in 2025 as an NPO, Kays Community was born from necessity. After facing two fires and three floods in just two years, we transitioned from a historic caravan park into a formal NPO.
This allows us to funnel every cent of funding into critical upliftment projects and the permanent development of our community.

By registering as an NPO, we’ve shifted from survival to growth. Our goal is to create a self-sustaining ecosystem where every resident could have the opportunity to thrive.

“I’ve been part of this community for more than 40 years. Since becoming the Manager in 2014, my mission has evolved from managing a park to protecting families.”
The profound losses we’ve witnessed and experienced from fires and floods in recent years have only strengthened my resolve.
My dream is to offer secure housing—safe from disasters—and to foster job creation that ripples out into the broader Strand and Helderberg communities. We aren’t just building homes; we’re building futures.”

Ultimately, the mission centers on restoring hope by creating a safe, self-sufficient
environment for every resident.

Our goal is simple: a safe roof over every head. We have already rebuilt 17 houses following the recent fires and floods.
